‘Resort’
Ja, Stella MCartney resort is looking good. Tycker att det känns mycket lekfullare än de tidigare, ganska mogna, kollektionerna (ja, om man räknar bort pre fall då, som ju var..lite tokig men fortfarande med dressade kostymer och näst intill damiga set av kortärmad kavaj och knälång kjol) och jag gillar det. Stella McCartney säger att vårkollektionerna (hon gillar att benämna dessa kollektioner som spring istället för resort och ss-kollektionerna för summer istället för spring/summer vilket ju makes sense) handlar om att ta vara på och njuta av en nystart, något jag tycker att man känner av i denna kollektion. Det är någonting i det som får mig att tänka på Célines resort 2012, jag gissar att det är den helvita looken med de långa, vida byxorna i kombination med något klumpigare platåskor och den där “ofixade” sidbenan men siluetten är annorlunda, ingen markerad midja utan snäppet mer relaxad med linningen vilandes på höften. I vilket fall så älskar jag detta, Stella McCartney är ju fantastiskt bra på att skapa den där stilen man inte bara vill ha utan faktiskt kan uppnå, det känns alltid bärbart. Helvitt, romantisk spets, leopardmönstrat (tydligen the shit för resort 2013, gör både Phoebe Philo och Stella McCartney det är det ju liksom ingen fråga om saken), oversizade jackor, utsvängda byxor, 70-talskänslan, de fantastiskt fina siluetterna och kanske framför allt skorna och accessoarerna i holografisk metall. To. die. for.

Stella McCartney resort is looking goooood. It feels a lot more playful than past seasons, that have had a quite more mature feeling to it (well, the pre fall was kind of..fun but there where still those classic Stella suits and almost ladylike sets of blazer and knee lengths skirts) and I like it. Stella McCartney says that the spring collections (she likes to think of these collections as spring instead of resort and summer instead of spring/summer which kind of makes sense) is all about enjoying a fresh start, a feeling I think she’s successfully has conveyed. There is something that makes me think about Céline resort 2012, I’m guessing it is the all white look with the long wide pants in combination with quite chunky platforms and that sort of “undone” hair style but the silhouette is different, there is no marked waist and a bit more relaxed with the waistband placed on the hip. Anyway, I love this, Stella McCartney does wearable at it’s best. All white looks, romantic lace, leopard print (apparently the shit for resort 2013, if both Phoebe Philo and Stella McCartney do it, there’s really no question mark), oversized jackets, flared pants, 70s vibes, the fabulous and thought through silhouettes and, above all, those holographic shoes and accessories. To. die. for.

Jo, visst har man sett det förut. För resort 2012 har Phoebe Philo satsat på att inkludera det som känns typiskt Céline när det kommer till materialval, färgkombinationer, byxmodeller och mönster från tidigare säsonger (läder, kombinationen av vitt och orange, de vida byxorna, sjalmönstret och mönstrade set) men kollektionen känns fortfarande uppdaterad och modern. Jag tycker inte att det gör någonting att man har sett dessa element förut, det är nästan en lättnad att man känner igen det. På något vis känns det mer värt att lägga ner så pass mycket pengar som ett Céline-plagg ändå kostar när man ser att det kommer igen, det blir en investering i ett signaturplagg. Älskar dock den vita looken med den där rocken i marinblått läder och leopardprint. För fint.

Phoebe Philo must have had previous collections in mind when she created resort 2013. This collection feels very Céline and you can see color combinations, materials, patterns and silhouettes from past seasons (the combination of white and orange, leather, scarf prints and wide pants) but it still feels very up to date and modern. I really don’t mind the fact that we’ve seen some of it before, it’s kind of a relief actually. Even if I do love when Phoebe surprises us (which see have done many times but still with her own, very special touch) it kind of gives you that feeling of buying timeless pieces when it’s a brand signature, don’t you think? Investment pieces, so to speak. I love that leo print though, that white look with the navy blue leather/leopard printed coat and leopard printed sleeves on the top is just fierce.
Nu har ju resortkollektionerna börjat trilla in och här är ett litet ihopplock av mina favoritlooks. Alltså Balenciagas skor? Jag orkar ej. De är typ de finaste skorna jag har sett. Andra storfavoriter är ju Reed Krakoffs fjäderkjol, Lanvins foliepaket (jag vet, förutsägbart), Proenza Schoulers väskor (den där tweedkappan ser ju inte heller så dum ut) och The Rows glansiga kappa. Ok, so the resort collections are starting to pop up and here’s a little selection of my favourite looks. Thos Balenciaga sandals!? OMG, they’re like the nicest pair of shoes I’ve laid my eyes on. SOme other favourites of mine are the feather skirt from Reed Krakoff, Lanvins foil packages (I know, I’m predictable), the bags from Proenza Schouler (that tweed coat isn’t too bad either) and the glossy coat from The Row.
